Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Tuesday, March 10, 2009 Delphine Olson, 85, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009, in Lake Havasu City. She was born May 13, 1923 in Parkers Prairie, Minn., to Alfred and Eugenia (Sjidin) Malmgren. Delphine worked as an accountant for the Veterans Administration in Fargo, N.D., and Palo Alto, Calif., retiring after 30 years of service. She moved to Lake Havasu City 25 years ago from Pelican Rapids, Minn., and became a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion and the Eagles. She loved to play pool, participating in league play and also enjoyed playing poker and her trips to Laughlin. Delphine is survived by her daughter, Susan (Ted) Klimek, of Lake Havasu City; grandchildren, Kirsten Allen and Kody Klimek and great grandchildren, Danielle and Reid Allen. A celebration of Delphine’s life will be Monday at 1 p.m., at the V.F.W. Post 9401, 266 London Bridge Rd. with the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary conducting the service. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Delphine’s name to Hospice of Havasu, PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.
