Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Tuesday, March 10, 2009 Barbara Norvell, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009, in Lake Havasu City. She was born July 5, 1920, in Medford, Mass., to Joseph B. and Joanna (Morrison) Cashen. The family lived for 30 years in Quincy, Mass. Barbara graduated from Quincy High School in 1938. She worked for New England Telephone until her marriage to Alfred Klaus in 1943. Together they had two children. In 1950 Barbara moved with her mother and children to Los Angeles, Calif. There she worked for 33 years for the Bank of America. In 1984, after the death of her daughter, she came to Lake Havasu City to raise her two granddaughters. Barbara is survived by her son, Thomas Klaus; granddaughters, Cathaleen (Jason) Horton, Dawn (Jacob) Rutigliano; grandsons; Kenneth (Michele) White, Mark White; sister, Ruth (Lewis) Crosby; long time friend Althea Myrbeck; great grandsons, Daniel Billington, Devyn White and several great nieces and one great nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Mary Joanne Billington. A memorial service will be held at Mount Olive Lutheran Church Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Words of comfort and wisdom will be expressed by Pastor James Price.
