GRAY, William Justice


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Tuesday, March 10, 2009 William Justice Gray passed away at his home in Lake Havasu City Thursday, March 5, 2009. Bill was a wonderful husband and father and beloved by everyone who knew him. Bill, a native of Portland, Ore., was the only child of LaVera (Ascher) and William Gray. He graduated from Columbia Prepatory School and played various sports including golf, baseball, swimming and boxing. Bill retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1995, formerly the Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railway, and was part of the last A-Line. Bill and Betty moved to Lake Havasu City in 1996. Bill loved the game of golf and played as long as he could. He was also an accomplished guitar player and loved playing classical guitar music. Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Jean and their children, William Gray, of Portland, Ore., Cathy Beaty, of Pleasant, Utah, Richard Gray, of Lake Havasu City, Anita Gray-Lattimore, of Portland, Ore., and Steven Gray, of Warrenton, Ore.; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherry. As Bill wished, there will be no funeral service.
