ROE, Arthur


Dr. Art Roe was a very well-known mineralogist and micromounting expert in the Tucson area. He was affiliated with the University of Arizona and the Mineral Museum on campus. A transparent mineral discovered in Arizona was named artroeite in his honor see http://webmineral.com/data/Artroeite.shtml. The Tucson Gem and Mineral Society hosts an annual world renowned mineral show in Tucson at the Convention Center. One of the events is the Arthur M. Roe Memorial Micromounting Symposium. A granite plaque covering the niche for the cremains of Dr. Roe can be found in the Memorial Garden and Columbarium on the west side of the church campus.
