Jeffrey Wayne Canterbury
December 5, 1960 - December 7, 2007 With my family, friends, and those I meet along the way to hold on to, I will live my life to the fullest, and smile at God's gifts along the way.
Jeff died peacefully at home with his family at his side. Living his life meant being a wonderful husband, father, son, brother and friend. Jeff was born in Denver, Colorado to Laurence and Jauncey Canterbury. He graduated from Western State College of Colorado with an MA in Science. His love for nature and birds began when he was very young. He was an Eagle Scout, falconer, fly fisherman, and passionate outdoorsman. Jeff's idea of the perfect vacation was pitching a tent in the mountains or on the beach with family and friends. At home he enjoyed cooking and building furniture. He always felt his most important purpose was raising his two children to go out into the world as happy and caring people. Thanks for showing us the way, Dad!
He is survived by his wife, Mindy; children, Sean and Megan; parents, Larry and Jauncey; brother, David; sister, Sidney, and many other loving family members.
Jeff's hope was for a greater awareness of prostate cancer--its diagnosis, treatment and a cure. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Southern Arizona Oncology Nursing Society, or Casa de la Luz Hospice.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 11, 600 p.m. to 800 p.m., ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. Memorial Service Wednesday, December 12, 200 p.m., St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 7601 N. Paseo del Norte. (Chapel). Reception to follow.
