T. Robert Lohman, 96, died peacefully on December 3, 2007 at Peppies House, TMC (Tucson Medical Center) hospice, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Muriel Wilson Lohman. Also survived by his sons, James W. Lohman M.D (Bonita) of Tucson, AZ and David E. Lohman, Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Robert L Lohman of Tucson, Kathryn Helt of Oakland, Ca, Rebecca L. Lohman of Tucson, Elizabeth A. Lohman of Tucson, and Sara M. Lohman of Los Angeles, Ca.
"Bob", as he like to be called, graduated from Syracuse University in 1934 with a B.S. in Accounting. He worked for Mobile Gas Company until the Second World War and then moved to Reading Pennsylvania, with a position at the Birdsboro Steel Company as credit manager. After the war, he went into the poultry business for 15 years outside of Reading, Pennsylvania. During this time he was president and founding member of the Rotary Club. In 1959, he returned to school and obtained a Masters Degree in Teaching Accounting. He then secured a position as Professor of Accounting at Goldie-Beacom Business School in Wilmington, Delaware. In 1981, he and Muriel moved permanently to Tucson.
Bob was an avid golfer and played the piano professionally in a jazz band. He was well known for his integrity and his sense of humor, which could brighten up the worse of situations. His relationship with his children and grandchildren was outstanding, bringing them many moments of enjoyment.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 1030 a.m., at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 7650 N. Paseo del Norte at the Chapel on the North East Campus behind the main Church Sanctuary.
