Helen C. "Kelly" Vensel, 96, an Arizona native, of Paradise Valley, active in various civic, social and charitable groups, died March 2, 1993. She was born in Prescott.
Mrs Vensel's grandfather, Tom Campbell, was Arizona's governor from 1919-23. Her father, Mike Campbell, was an education pioneer in the state and built his own schoolhouse and district.
Mrs Vensel was former president of the Frank Luke Jr Post Auxiliary of the American Legion Auxiliaries and president of American Legion Auxiliary for Arizona from 1938-39. Also, she was president of the Arizona Gerneral Federation of Women's Clubs from 1953-54.
Survivors include her nephews, Frank "Buck" Hanna, David Johns, Yale Siminoff, A. George Vensel and J Zimmerman; and various cousins. Services: 1pm Thursday, Mercer Mortuary, 1541 E Thomas Road.
