TUURI, Carolyn Sue


Arizona Daily Star, February 22, 2007 CAROLYN SUE TUURI Went to join the Lord on February 13, 2007. She lost a valiant battle with Ovarian Cancer first detected in 2002. Born May 5, 1943, East Liverpool, Ohio. Moved to Nogales, Arizona at the age of five. Was graduated 1961 from Nogales High School, moved to Tucson, and met Ron (Air Force) they married in 1963. After discharge from the Air Force they moved to Ohio. They had two children, Brian and Kelly. They returned to Tucson in 1974. Carolyn worked for Amphi High School for 20 years, retiring in 1998. She and Ron, loved traveling, Wildcat basketball and the outdoors. Carolyn was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Ron; son, Brian (Corinna); daughter, Kelly (Will) and two grandchildren, Austin and Karly; brother-in-law, Alan (Charlotte); mother, Jane; sisters, JoAnne, Sally Phoebe (Carl), Suzanna, Barbara (Steve), Debbie; other relatives and many friends. Carolyn was one of seven sisters, they called her the "Golden girl" as that was what she was. Carolyn will be greatly missed and loved by all. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at St Andrews Presbyterian Church, 7650 N. Paseo del Norte, Tucson, AZ in the chapel 200 p.m. followed by a celebration of life on the church property. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Bobbi Olson ovarian cancer fund, 1510 N. Cambell Ave., P.O. Box 245128, Tucson, AZ 85724 is requested.
