Winterset Madisonian, Winterset, Iowa Wednesday, May 5, 2004 Loretta VanNordstrand, Arizona Loretta M. VanNordstrand, 79, of Mesa, Ariz., died of heart failure May 1, 2004 at Arbor Rose in Mesa. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May, at Winterset Cemetery with Pastor Gary McDonough officiating. There will be no visitation. Loretta VanNordstrand was born June 6, 1924 in Burlington to Fred A. and Marie L. (Vahle) Masters. On Aug. 12, 1948, she married Curtis Van Nordstrand in Lancaster, Mo. Loretta had resided in Arizona for the past six years. She had lived in Des Moines for many years prior to that. She was preceded in death by her husband and a stepdaughter, Susan Wachter. She is survived by four sisters, Mary Jane Hunt of West Des Moines, Geraldine Ellis of Windsor Heights and Betty Mayhugh and Janet Edwards, both of Mesa, Ariz. Arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.
