The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 07/07/2006 Lugene S. Roehrman, 94, Sun City, formerly of Liberty, Miss. died July 29, 2006. She was born Jan. 27, 1912, in Osage City, Kansas, and had lived in McPherson, Kansas 11 years and Liberty 21 years before moving to Sun City in 1974. Mrs. Roehrman was principally a homemaker but worked for the Clay County, Missouri, Soil Conservation office for 15 years. She attended Kansas State University 1930-1932 where she studied home economics. She was an excellent seamstress, knitter and crotchetier and created beautiful garments and home decorations for her family as well as the church and community. One project that she worked on most diligently was making leprosy bandages. Another pastime she enjoyed was playing bridge with family and friends. She was a member of Handbell Ringers of Sun City in the '70's and '80's. She was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church, Sun City. In December 1933, she married Frederick E. Roehrman who preceded her in death in 1977. Her parents, Hallam Rodney Smith and Agnes Caroline Smith as well as a brother Rodney Smith, and sister-in-law Jane Smith also preceded her in death. Mrs. Roehrman's two children, Kenneth E. (Judy) Roehrman of Pinetop, and Carolyn (Gerald) Kutz of Winchester, WI survive as well as five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren. The grandchildren are Audrey Michalski, Fort Atkinson, Wis., Karen Cooley, Las Vegas, Nev., Todd Roehrman, San Francisco, Calif., Rebecca (Robert) Paparella, Scottsdale, and Janet Flores, Chino Valley. Great-grandchildren are Jessica and Rachel Hensgen, and Andrew Michalski, Fort Atkinson, Wis., Natasha and Antonio Ayala, Las Vegas, Nev., and Anicka and Quintin Flores of Chino Valley.
