BACA, Cruzita


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 07/14/2006 Cruzita Baca died July 12, 2006. She was born Dec. 17, 1921 in St. Johns. She married Fidel Baca and lived in Albuquerque, N.M. for a short time, moved back to St. Johns and lived there with Fidel until he passed away in 1989. Cruzita moved to Flagstaff in 1989 and resided there until she died. Cruzita enjoyed many things such as gardening, crocheting, pets, and quilting. One of the things she seemed to enjoy the most was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Cruzita is survived by her children, Sylvia (Stephen) Blanchard, Rudy (Patty) Baca, and Victoria (Russ) Montgomery; brothers, Benny Baca and Freddie Joe Baca; sisters, Anita Jojola, Mary Rochon, Charlotte Gomez, and Lucy Gonzales; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Cruzita was preceded in death by her husband, Fidel Baca and grandson, Rudy "RJ" Baca, Jr. A visitation was held Thursday evening at Norvel Owens Mortuary in Flagstaff. Holy Rosary will be Friday, July 14 at 7 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in St. John's. Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. Saturday, also at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial will be held at the St. John's Catholic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are made by Norvel Owens Mortuary, Flagstaff, Arizona.
