BRIGGS,
Joan Elizabeth
(Maiden Name: Miller)
Joan Elizabeth Briggs 8/1/1928 - 6/15/2010 Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed on to a heavenly reunion with her Savior, parents, Florence and Frank Miller, sister, Dorothy Schlinkert, family members and dear friends.
She is survived by Bob, her husband of 62 years; sister, Mary Prelozni (Hank); daughters, Laura (Ed), Tina (Bill), and Sandy; son, Frank (Krissie); grandchildren, Kristin, Tom, Jeremy, Lisa, Nichole, Nathaniel, Lauren, Aubrey, and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Payton, Mason and numerous nieces and nephews. Her life was devoted to her family, friends and those in need. She donated 50 units of blood platelets to the American Red Cross. She volunteered in all her kids' activities. Joan was a Neighborhood Watch Chairman, and hospital volunteer at both TMC and UMC. She was a member of Catalina United Methodist Church where she was active in Homebuilders Sunday School Class, prayer groups and served for many years as a Stephen minister.
In later years, she enjoyed traveling with Bob to Hawaii, Europe, Alaska, British Columbia and Fall Colors in New England but mostly she liked the quiet beauty of mountains, desert and the beach. Your loving ways and sweet smile will never be forgotten. May your heaven be filled with an ocean shore or babbling brook to sit beside and read a book. A cloudless sky and by and by, we'll join you in the twinkle of an eye. A special note of gratitude to Letha, Joan's caregiver, from My House Senior Living and all the TMC Hospice angels, especially Gigi, Teresa, Lisa and Gloria.
