STILB,
Elaine
(Maiden Name: Miller)
Elaine Miller Stilb 12/18/1925 – 6/28/2010 Elaine Stilb was an incredible mother to us, her seven children, and the "most amazing Nana" to her eight grandchildren.
She was a good friend to many, but for us, she was our best friend and the loving wife to our dear Father, Jack Stilb. She was always available to talk, ready to travel, spent hours listening, and never stopped enveloping us in her eternal love. What are we going to do without her? Our beautiful Mother passed away on Monday, June 28, 2010 at the age of 84. Born Priscilla Elaine Miller, Mom was born on December 18, 1925 to Frank and Hattie Miller.
A native of Tucson, she and her two older brothers, Jack and Richard Miller, grew up in a stone bungalow in downtown Tucson built by her father and grandfather. A proponent of preserving Tucson's historical heritage, Mom was a long-time member of the Mountain Oyster Club and served as Hostess and Chair of the Silver and Turquoise Ball where she was instrumental in designating San Xavier del Bac as the sole beneficiary of the ball's proceeds for the Mission's restoration and preservation. She attended Tucson High School, and the University of Arizona where she was the "A" Day Queen, and a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. But, most importantly, it is there she met our Dad and together they created a family oasis in the desert--a place of countless family gatherings, parties, and weddings--a source of endless memories. Those that met her, wanted to know her. Those that knew her loved her and will never forget her. She was and will always be a woman of grace and elegance. We love and miss you Mom. Forever in our hearts. Elaine is survived by six of her seven children and eight grandchildren.
A celebration of Elaine's life will be held on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at Bear Canyon Ranch. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to benefit the San Xavier Mission: Patronato San Xavier, PO Box 522, Tucson, AZ 85702. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.
