Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Saturday, July 3, 2010 Rosanna “Rosy” Miller passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 27, 2010, at the age of 78. She was born on Nov. 8, 1931, in Ackman, Colo., to John and Maud Bower. She and her siblings grew up in Idaho and would travel with their folks to Washington for work. This is where she met her husband, Alvin. Rosy and Alvin were married in October of 1948 and enjoyed many happy years together until he passed away in 1993. Rosy and Alvin had three children; James (Jimmy), LaRae, and LeRoy. Rosy worked for Safeway for 25 years and retired after suffering a stroke in 1985. She moved to Lake Havasu City in 1997 to live with her sister, Estel, and the two of them enjoyed their “lunch bunch” crew, baseball games, and lots of happy times in Palm Springs. Rosy always liked to leave her mark on your cheek with her always colorful lipstick, was always quick with a smile and will be remembered for her token phrase of “Oh dammit.” She is survived by her daughter, LaRae Lewis (Ron) of Carthage, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Vicki Miller of Collinsville, Okla.; sister, Estel Saitta of Lake Havasu City; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces and nephews here in Lake Havasu City that will miss her very much. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin; sons, LeRoy and James; brother, Alfred Bower; and sister, Ardath Parr. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. July 17 at Calvary Baptist Church in Lake Havasu City. Interment will be by her husband Alvin’s side in Carthage, Mo. at a later date. Family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Rosy’s name to Hospice of Havasu or Casa Grande Assisted Living.
