Donald Alphonso McConnell died on Dec. 3 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix.
A pioneer in early aviation, he served with the Civil Aeronautics Administration, which later became the Federal Aviation Agency. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wickenburg, serving as Deacon and Elder. He was also a Mason and Shriner.
Survivors include his wife Jane McConnell of Wickenburg; a daughter, Marilyn Misclen, Texas; a son, Donald Kent McConnell; and 5 grandchildren.
Services were held on Dec 5 at First Presbyterian Church in Wickenburg. Rev. Wick Hutchinson officiated. Internment was at Wickenburg Cemetery.

The subheading to obituary of Donald McConnell in the Dec 11 issue of the Wickenburg Sun accidently omitted the last name-McConnell, giving the appearance that the last name was Alphonso.
Also survivors include his wife Cecelia (not Jane) McConnell of Wickenburg; a daughter Marilyn Mischen and five grandchildren of El Paso, Texas, and a son Donald Kent McConnell of Dallas, Texas.
