Avaloi Maria Jaramillo, 91, died in St. Johns, July 19, 2006.
"Baloy" as she was known to many, was born in St. Johns Jan. 2, 1915 and lived there all her life. Baloy liked hunting for arrowheads and picking piƱos. She enjoyed fishing and liked taking trips into the mountains. She was a baker of renown, baking bread and cakes for church and civic activities and many in the neighborhood.
Her survivors are sons, Ernest (Mary) Jaramillo of Phoenix, Dionisio (Gladys) Jaramillo of St. Johns, Erasmo (Maria) Jaramillo, Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev; daughters, Amelia "Emily" Baca of Eagar; Ernestina "Tina" (Henry) Reyes of St. Johns, Gladys (Wally) Ott of Flagstaff; sister, Rosie, of Phoenix; 26 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and 25 great-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were parents, Dionicio and Brigida Moreno Garcia; husband Erasmo Jaramillo, Sr., daughter Therese Cruz; son Dave Jaramillo; brothers Phillip Salazar, Sr., Tony and Epifanio Salazar, and sisters, Lilly and Frances.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 25, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. Johns. Interment will be at the St. Johns Catholic Cemetery.
Burnham Mortuary, St. Johns is in charge of the arrangements.
