ROSMANITH, Carl William


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ January 23, 1991, p.2 Carl William Rosmanith, 87, of Wickenburg died January 23. Mr. Rosmanith was born April 3, 1903 in Chicago. He had lived in Wickenburg for the past six years, moving to the community in 1984 with his wife, Eunice, from De Plaines, Illinois. Mr. Rosmanith was a retired senior engineering designer for Beckman Instruments, one of the leading manufacturers of electronic instrumentation for industry, medicine and the military. He was part of the early days of modern aviation, learning to fly and build airplanes while still in his teens at the Aero Club of Illinois flying field. His lifelong hobbies included building scale model airplanes and ships, winning the Chicago Daily News miniature airplane contest in 1923 and 1924. He also built clocks from miniatures to grandfathers, and restored antique clocks. Survivors include two nieces, Nancy Hopfer and Patricia Georgas, both of Wickenburg; sister-in-law, Valmer Zern, of Wickenburg; two great nephews; and five great nieces. Services were January 25 at the Wickenburg Cemetery. Betty MacDonald officiated.
