GREY, Grace


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 07/28/2006 Grace Grey, 82 of Lakeside, died July 25, 2006 in Lakeside. Mrs. Grey, a retired assembler for RCA Electronics, was born May 28, 1924 in Portage, Pa. Her family moved to Dundee, Michigan when Grace was a child. She grew up and attended school there. Following school she worked for General Motors, assembling crankshafts for Allison engines. It was there that she met her future husband, Lee. After they were married, Lee went to fight in WWII with the Coast Guard, and Grace continued working at GM, them went to work as a welder. Following the war, they stayed in Michigan and Grace was a homemaker. Following retirement, they moved to Phoenix in 1983, then to Lakeside in 1984. Grace loved to travel and she loved to go to the casino at Hon-Dah. Grace is survived by her husband Lee Grey, Sr. of Lakeside; son, Lee Grey, Jr. of Sun City; daughter, Lynn Sharon Millar of Westland, Mich.; brothers, Frank of Calif., Jim of Lincoln Park, Mich., Louie of Canyon City, Ore., Steve of Monroe, Mich., and Joe of River View, Mich.; a sister Mary of Sun City; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. There are no services scheduled. Memorial contributions may be made in Grace's honor to RTA Hospice, 1789 W. Commerce Dr., Lakeside, AZ 85929. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
