Carol Joy
(Maiden Name: Packer)
The White Mountain Independent,
Show Low, Arizona ~ 07/28/2006
Beloved sister and mother Carol Joy Packer Briggs, 74, decided to go home to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, July 25, 2006.
Carol was born April 21, 1932 to Leo and Rose Packer in Globe. She married and had three children. In 1975, she moved to Mesa and also was a part-time resident of the White Mountains. She loved to travel with family and if she were sitting in public waiting for family you would find her chatting with strangers and getting to know their life stories. She loved playing games and visiting with all her lifelong friends whom she loved dearly. She loved her church and was a devout Mormon. Her favorite saying was "you make your own happiness" and it was the way she lived her life.
She is survived by her beloved sister, Sherri; and brother-in-law Richard; one daughter, Vashon Johnson; two sons, Blaine Briggs and Tommie Cardwell; one daughter-in-law, Nicole Cardwell; five grandchildren and one granddaughter in law; and countless nieces and nephews. Rest in peace sweet Carol.
A viewing will be held Friday, July 28 at Bunkers Mortuary on Centennial Way in Mesa from 6-8 p.m. Services will be held Saturday, July 29 at 10 a.m. at the LDS Chapel located between Date and McClellan in Mesa.
