The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 08/01/2006 Helen True Ivey Purcell, 94, died at home of her daughter in Vernon, July 20, 2006. She was born In Los Angeles, Calif. May 2, 1912. She had made her home in Arizona for 28 years. She earned her masters degree from Occidental College in music composition, excelling in piano and pipe organ. She rode in the Rose Parade in Calif. for many years. Helen was a homemaker and part time piano teacher. Her survivors are son Michael Purcell, Glenwood, Ark.; daughters Laurie Prati, Vernon; and Sharon di Leonardo, Hellfire, N.M.; and three grandchildren. Her parents Lott Otis Ivey and Effie Woodward Ivey preceded her in death. Burnham Mortuary, Eagar, handled her arrangements.
