Perri
TWEED, Perri, a third generation Arizona native, made her final transition on June 24, 2010.
Born in Tucson on July 8, 1940 to Ella Fuller Tweed and Dr. William Mayer Tweed. Perri was well known in horse circles around the state. She leaves behind her daughter, Michelle Salazar; a grandaughter, Teresa Alicia Salazar; a brother, Bill Tweed, and sister-in-law, Teddy Tweed of Tucson. Perri obtained her B.A. degree in Language Arts at the University of Arizona, and later her M.A. in Linguistics at Arizona State University. She taught in Florence and in Phoenix Union's Bilingual Program at South Mountain High School. Meanwhile, she married Robert Dale Meyer. Horses were always the love of Perri's life. She and Michelle boarded and trained horses at ranches in Cave Creek and Rio Verde. Perri had been licensed to train race horses since 1978.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Messinger Mortuary on Miller and Indian School Roads from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2010.
