The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 08/25/2006 Franklin W. Divers, 86, of Yuma died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006. He was born April 27, 1920 in Goldendale, Wash. Franklin was employed in the education field as a teacher and administrator. He spent several years at Fort Apache with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and later taught in the Show Low schools. He was a member of the American Legion No. 0076, VFW No. 9907, NARFE No. 266, and Loyal Order of Moose No. 1627. Franklin served with the U.S. Navy in WWII. He attended Northwest Nazarene College and University of Arizona. He is survived by his wife, Joan M. Divers of Yuma; sons, Franklin C. (Joyce) of Vancouver, Wash., and Ronald (Arya) of Lake Oswego, Ore.; stepdaughters, Jolene (Bob) Jones of Salem, Ore., and Gloria J. (Rod) Erlien of Saipan; stepson, Douglas (Thelma) Bailey of Creswell, Ore.; numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Stella Divers; sister, Marcella Patterson and son, Roger Divers. Franklin requested no services to be held. Final resting place is Sunset Vista Veterans Cemetery in Yuma.
