Ila Jean Butterbaugh died Aug. 22, 2006 in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Ila was born April 19, 1926 in Rapid City, South Dakota. She married Leslie J. Butterbaugh on her 21st birthday in 1947. They moved from Iowa to Tempe in 1954. They moved to Show Low in 1961. Ila worked as a waitress at the White Mountain Café and the Branding Iron. She also managed the Lone Pine Motel in Show Low. They moved to Holbrook where she worked for NACOG for 10 years.
Her marriage to Les lasted 44 years until his death in 1991. She lived the last 10 years in Iowa.
She is survived by her son, Martin (Shirley) Beal in Oskaloosa, Iowa; her daughter, Mary (Matt) Abrams of Vernon; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, James McGriff of Box Elder of South Dakota; three sisters Patricia (Roy) Hackett of Mesa; Mildred Allen of New Sharon, Iowa; Virginia (Clem) Evans of Show Low; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 2 at the Show Low Cemetery at 11 a.m.
