Julia Joyce "Judy" Morrison
Judy Morrison of Snowflake died Sept. 8, 2006, at her home with her family by her side.
Judy was born in Socorro, N.M., Feb. 4, 1928, where her parents opened one of the first sawmills in the Black Range Mountains. She was a very talented musician and played several instruments well, including the guitar and mandolin! Judy also had a strong belief in our Lord, Jesus Christ. She was a blessing to all and will be missed.
Her survivors include her children and their spouses, Karen and Rick Taylor of Almagordo, N.M., Bear and Betty Smith of La Luz, N.M., Kathy and Joel Lawson of Snowflake, Jim and Bea Olsen of Phoenix, Jack and Cindy Olsen of Tucson, Carl and Frances Morrison of Tucson, and Jon Morrison of Tucson. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Judy was preceded in death by one brother, Bud Dees; one grandson, Matthew Morrison; her parents, Frank J. Dees, Sr. and Julia Ruth Dees. Also preceding her in death were two nephews, Frankie J. Dees, III of Atascadero, Calif. and John Harris Dees and Mayhill, N.M.
Her immediate family held a private memorial. Another memorial service will be held in James Canyon, her final resting place on earth as she walks on streets of gold.
Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor handled the arrangements.
