John Paul Graham, 87, passed away Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at his home in Lake Havasu City Jack, as he was known to his family and friends, was born July 21, 1921 in Hackensack, N.J., to John and Mary (Gierach) Graham.
Jack graduated from Eastside High School in Paterson, N.J., and in 1942 enlisted in the United States Army. He proudly served his country until 1945 and was honorably discharged after attaining the rank of sergeant.
Following the war, Jack returned to New Jersey and worked in the family construction business and became owner of a lumber yard. He also became a volunteer fireman and was a member of the Pioneer Masonic Lodge No. 70 of Free and Accepted Masons in Hackensack.
In 1967, Jack and his wife, Janet, and three sons moved to Wyoming for the skiing and the outdoor activities. In Wyoming, Jack became a real estate broker and was a member of Jackson Lodge No. 48 and the Kalif Shrine of Sheridan, Wyo. He also became involved as a volunteer fireman in New Jersey and Wyoming for 55 years.
Jack and Janet began coming to Lake Havasu City in 1998 to spend their winters and made Havasu their permanent home in 2003.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Janet; sons, John J. Graham, of Stanley, Idaho, Duncan C. Graham, of Wilson, Wyo., and Russell M. Graham, of Powell, Wyo.
