HAYNES, Denny Ray


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Saturday, January 3, 2009 Denny Ray Haynes passed away Dec. 24, 2008, at his home in Lake Havasu City with his wife and loved ones by his side. He was born Sept. 29, 1929, in Bloomingtom, Calif. Denny graduated from Colton Union High School in Colton, Calif. He then proudly served his country under the direction of the U.S. Army. After his service he worked in the auto body field as a painter until 1955 when he joined the Rialto, Calif., fire department and proudly served 30 years and rose to the rank of captain. Denny was nicknamed Mother Haynes for his ability to lead and teach by example. His high professional standards in life as well as in the fire service earned hime the respect of all who worked with him. After retirement Denny relocated to Lake Havasu City where he met and married Loreen Ramsey. Denny and Loreen loved to travel in their motor home and spent a lot of time on their boat on the lake. Denny was a self-taught craftsman in many aspects of construction and had a real flair for tile-setting. His greatest attribute was a caring and loving personality. Anyone lucky enough to know Denny cherished his friendship. Denny’s passing will leave a void in this world, but, rest assured, Heaven is now a better place. Denny was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Haynes, of Utah. He is survived by his wife, Loreen; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Virginia and Joe Hines, of Lake Havasu City. A memorial service is planned by the Rialto Fire Department in the near future.
