He was a very unselfish man when it came to a decision to get married and help raise five of us six Hassler children. He also helped raise his grandchildren Bryan, Angela, and Tabatha Bundesen when their dad passed away. He also had his special little granddaughter Chrystal Bundesen (Tabby’s daughter). He is survived by 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. We all have some good stories to talk about, and we love him, and we are glad he is in a better place with his mom, where he is not suffering any longer. He is a special uncle to all of us Hasslers and a special grandpa to all our kids. He worked at Bethlehem Steel in South Gate, Calif., and he also worked for the state as a surveyor. Then he moved to Arizona and worked as a surveyor. He also was in the Navy and got to tour Hong Kong, and he also received his first and only tattoo - an anchor. He was a poem writer and even had one of this poems published in a book called, “The Garden of Life - National Library of Poetry.” His poem was called “Sunset.”
