William “Bill” Carl Larkins, 83, passed away Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, in Lake Havasu City. He was born Sept. 4, 1925, in Detroit, Mich., to Louis A. and Clara D. (Flemming) Larkins.
Bill resided in Michigan for 59 years and in 1984 he and his wife Rose moved to Lake Havasu City. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army WWII, serving two and one half years in the South Pacific. Bill was discharged April 23, 1946, and returned to work at the Packard Motor Car Company, where he met his wife Rose. They married on April 17, 1948. When Packard closed, Bill was hired at Chrysler Corp, where he worked until he retired in 1980.
Bill and Rose loved going out every day to have lunch and once a week they went to Laughlin.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Rose; sister, Margaret Bruce, of California; 13 nieces and nephews, 29 great nieces and nephews and nine great great nieces and nephews.
A Scripture Service will be held at Lietz-Fraze Chapel Saturday at 2 p.m. Words of wisdom and inspiration will be expressed by Deacon Patrick Toilolo. Military honors will be presented by the V.F.W. Post 9401 and American Legion Post 81.
