William F. O’Neil, 79, died unexpectedly Oct. 22, 2008. He was born in Herminie, Pa., the son of Francis and Kathryn Donella O’Neil.
Bill grew up in the Canonsburg area and was a member of the Chartiers Houston High School class of 1947. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea, during the Korean War.
He then moved to Southern California where he retired as an executive from both Household Finance Corporation and Kawasaki Corporation. In 1996, he moved to Lake Havasu City where he has lived for the past 12 years.
He is survived by his son, William (Laura) O’Neil Jr., of Fishers, Ind.; his daughter, Karen (Phillip) Nicholson, of McMurray, Pa.; a step-daughter, Betty (Jim) Jurgens, of Jerome, Idaho; and nine grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronald O’Neil.
A private funeral service was held Nov. 22 with inurnment following at Mary Mother of the Church Mausoleum, in McMurray, Pa.
