Gary Lee Felish, 49, passed away Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, in Lake Havasu City. He was born March 14, 1959, to Joseph and Jeraldyne (Giannoni) Felish in Berwyn, Ill.
Gary moved to Lake Havasu City 30 years ago and went to work for several years at Ed & Mikes, then went to work at Chong RV & Marine. After a few years at Chong, Gary bought the Union 76 Gas Station which became Gary’s Texaco on the corner of Lake Havasu Ave. and Smoketree Ave. After several years owning and operating the gas station, Gary sold his station and moved his business to 140 N. Lake Havasu Ave. where he opened Gary’s Auto, Marine & RV. Gary also became involved with the Lake Havasu City Fire Department as a pain on-call firefighter and EMT.
Gary loved stock car racing at Havasu 95 Speedway, was a big Dale Earnhart Jr. NASCAR fan, loved going to Glamis to ride his sand cars and was also a boating enthusiast. Most of all, Gary was a loving father, husband and best friend.
Gary leaves behind his beloved wife of 24 years, Lori Felish, of Lake Havasu City; daughters, Stephanie Lee Felish and Meagan Jean Felish; three brothers, Sam, of Gold Canyon, Joe Jr., of Glendale, and Ricky Felish, of Lake Havasu City; nephews, Dalton, Brandon, Parker, Ryan, Justin, Brian, Aaron, Avery, Darren and Joe III and nieces, Heather and Brenda.
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday at 6 p.m., at the Aquatic Center in the Relics & Rods Hall. Words of comfort and inspiration will be presented by Pastor Bob Greene.
