Woodward, Ruth Lockway was born in Tucson Arizona Territory on August 24, 1907 and passed away at her home on July 4, 2010 at the age of 102.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years Fred H. Woodward, a son F.C. (Chuck) Woodward, and her sisters Muriel Hanson and Myra Feuerriegel.
She is survived by a son Thomas L. Woodward of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and a brother, Howard Lockway of Cornville, Arizona, four grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Ruth was the daughter of John and Zadie Lockway and spent her early years in Copper Hill and Globe where her father worked for the Iron Cap Copper Company. Ruth served for 17 years as chairperson of the annual Goodwill Furniture Sale and was a founding member and past president of the CPA Auxiliary. She was also coffee cart chairperson for the Good Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary. Ruth was a collector of Victorian antiques and could make any setting beautiful.
Viewing will be 10 to 11 am on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. 7th St.
Graveside service will be private.
