Mildred C. Hennessey, 93, of Chino Valley, Ariz., passed away on June 21, 2010. She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Richard Andrews Hennessey, in 1989. Mildred is survived by her son, Richard Andrews Hennessey II, and daughter-in-law Kim Hennessey of Chino Valley.
Mildred and her family owned and operated the Chino Valley Grain Company and Prescott Ranch Store until they sold it in 1979. She was also the first town clerk of Chino Valley and retired in 1987.
Mildred was a kind and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. She enjoyed reading political books, working crossword puzzles, loved her dogs, and had a strong faith in God. Mildred possessed the essential core values of honesty and integrity. She lived a simple yet full life, leading by example and never losing her wonderful sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Highway 89 and Ruger Road in Prescott. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
