PITZER, Cleo C.

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, June 25, 2010 Cleo C. Pitzer was born Aug. 1, 1925, in Fulton County, Ind. She died June 12, 2010, in Payson, Ariz. She lived in Elkhardt, Ind.; Chicago, Ill.; Tempe, Paulden, Star Valley and Payson. She was married to Goebel "Ed" Pitzer for 58 years until his death Jan. 21, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Carol, on Jan. 19, 2006, and a great-grandson, Michael, in January 2007. She is survived by her sons, Terry Pitzer of Tucson and Burton Pitzer of Mesa; her daughter, Maggie (Sean) Meares of Payson; and 10 grandchildren - four of whom were closest to her are April Scholfield of Mesa, Sara (Bobby) Moreno of Tonto Basin, Brandon Lewis of Payson and Sean "Ryan" Meares, currently stationed at Shepherd Air Force Base in Texas. She was a good homemaker and loved Major League Baseball - Go Diamondbacks. No memorial services are scheduled at this time. The family would like to thank Payson Care Center for making their mother comfortable in her final hours; Hospice Compassus for all of its help and previous help with her out-of-home care; and to Messinger Funeral Home for their kindness and help with arrangements.
