CELAYA,
Angelita Diaz (Geeg)
Angelita Diaz (Geeg) Celaya was born April 30, 1919 and went to be with our Lord June 17, 2010.
Geeg was born in the historical Ft. Lowell area to Ramon and Trinidad Diaz. Her childhood was with her siblings, Delia, Nellie, Ramon, Mary, Catalina and Joe. It is there where they learned about God, hard work, love, laughing, sharing and caring about everyone. She married the late Jess F. Celaya and lived happily in the historic Ft. Lowell area of Tucson. They were always camping, hunting or going on trips throughout Southern AZ. They left us with a lifetime of great memories. Angie did not have any maternal children of her own but she was blessed with countless children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren to whom she has left a legacy that will never be forgotten.
Geeg is survived by her sister and best friend for eighty nine years, Katie Foster who also lives in Tucson. Geeg was an avid Diamond Back fan and would not miss a game, her "damn it to hell" when they made mistakes can still be heard. It is only fitting that the day after her death a no hitter was pitched by them. As always Geeg one up's them by living a life that was her own perfect game!
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Cyril's Catholic Church, 4725 E. Pima on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with a burial following at the historical Ft. Lowell cemetery.
