Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Thursday, July 8, 2010 John Wilson Parker, 82, passed away at his home in Lake Havasu City Wednesdaym July 7, 2010. He was born on Aug. 8, 1927, in Orleans, Mass. John came to California in the 1940s to attend Cal Aero Institute of Technology. He worked for 40 years in the aerospace industry starting with North American Aviation, which later became Rockwell International. John and his wife of 55 years, Sue, retired to Lake Havasu City in 1989. For 16 years, he was an active member of Relics and Rods and a member of Elks Lodge 2399. John will be remembered for his love of classic cars, bowling and a good beer. John is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sue, of Lake Havasu City; daughters, Karlyn (Michael) Apalategui, of Chula Vista, Calif., Kerry (Allen) Rathey, of Boise, Idaho, and Kay (Robert) Jackson, of Lake Havasu City; 11 grandchildren, Paul, Allison and Autumn Rathey, Michelle, Jean-Marc, Jaron, Joseph, Jeffrey and Mia Apalategui, Kyle and Kary Jackson and great-granddaughter, Morrigan Rathey and his beloved Siamese cat, Java Kitty. Come share memories and a beer with John’s family at the Elks Lodge Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. Arrangements were under the care of Lake Havasu Mortuary and Crematory.
