The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ July 17, 1991, p. 2 Edgar W. Baker, 88, of Wickenburg died July 10 in Wickenburg Community Hospital. Mr. Baker was born October 18, 1902 in Kent, Illinois. He had lived in Arizona for the past eight years. He married his wife, Helen (Peggy) Schmidt, who survives him, on August 17, 1929. He was an assistant secretary and general credit manager of Hines Lumber Co., Chicago. After his retirement from Hines, he spent 10 years as a real estate associate at Eugene Mantanky and Associates, where he was a million dollar salesman. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and after moving to Wickenburg, a member of the First Presbyterian Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Carol Davison and Kathie Galis; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The Baker family expressed it sincere thanks to Dr. Paul Kliewer, Rev. Jim Longstreet and the Letts’ for their help and concern. Private disposition was at the Wickenburg Cemetery, with Rev. Jim Longstreet officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Wickenburg.
