Richard Greyson (Dick) Waugh, age 90, born Oct. 3, 1915, in Almena, Kan., died Dec. 7, 2005, in Prescott, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by Harriet, his first wife of many years; Ardith Lathrop Waugh, his second wife of 24 years; and stepdaughter, Ardy Jo Noel. Upon his marriage to Ardith, he acquired four adult daughters and their families. Dick will be remembered for saying: "I always wanted to have kids, but just didn't know they'd be so old when I
got them!"
Survivors include his nephews, Richard Waugh of Belmont, Calif., and Terry Waugh of Tonto Verde, Ariz.; stepdaughters, Phyllis Parkhurst of Prescott, Connie Lathrop of San Rafael, Calif., and Rosemary Lathrop of Mesa. He is also survived by six step-grandchildren: Dia Montgomery, Jena Meyer Lederer, Christopher Noel, Lindsey Beveridge, Amy Hori and Amanda Hori as well as three great-grandchildren.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Kansas, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Prior to his death, Dick requested that there be no memorial service, but that friends and family remember the wonderful times they had shared. The times he laughed, gave advice, or just listened will remain in the memories of those whose lives he touched.
