Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Wednesday, December 3, 2008 Vera Catherine Breig died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008, in Phoenix. She was born Dec. 2, 1919, in Dayton, Ohio. Vera was an exceptional teacher for 48 years in parochial schools in Ohio, Indiana and Missouri and in public schools in California, before retiring in 1986. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Emma Breig; and her sisters, Norma Breig, Agnes Glaser, and Grace Storer. She is survived by her sisters, Glenna Breig, Anna Mae Edgar, Mary Ellen (Harry) Giambrone, Joan (John) Ritzert, and Patricia Breig, all of Dayton, Ohio; Betty Dickson, of Pensacola, Fla.; Sister Ruth Breig, Oldenburg, Ind., and Rita (John) Wilhelm, of Phoenix; her many nieces and nephews and their families and her many close friends in Lake Havasu City, where she resided. In accordance with Vera’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral or burial services. Any masses or contributions to be said in her honor are to be made to the Sisters of St. Francis in care of Sister Ruth Breig, P.O. Box 100, Oldenburg, IN, 47036. Cremation services are being provided by Sunland Memorial Mortuary and Cremation Center. May her soul rest in peace.
