Iona Bondaline Snyder, 84, of Lake Havasu City died Nov. 2, 2008, at Havasu Regional Medical Center in Lake Havasu City. She was born Oct. 26, 1924, in South Connellsville, Penn., to John R. and Sarah (Stewart) Schooley.
She married Blaine Daniel Snyder Jan. 20, 1942, in Maryland; they were married just one month shy of 53 years. They resided in Pennsylvania until 1956 when they moved to Ohio where they lived until retirement. In 1986, they moved to Phoenix where they made many new friends, enjoyed golf, bowling and their retirement years.
Iona moved to Lake Havasu City in 1996 to be near her daughters. She shared the home of her daughter, Linda, and son-in-law, Hal, for the last several years and was able to be close to her daughter, Juanita.
The family and acquaintances will miss her quick wit and unselfish love. She was the greatest mother and grandma and so enjoyed having the children around her.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Christiansen (Hal) and Juanita Senita, of Lake Havasu City; a sister, Antoinette Kret (Walter), of Maple Heights., Ohio; several nieces and nephews; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her small companion for the last 10 years, Hallee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Blaine Daniel Snyder; and her son, Blaine Richard Snyder.
Per her wishes, she will be cremated and the family will hold a small private service at a later date at Phoenix Memorial Gardens in Phoenix where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
