GRIBBELL, Adele


Adele Gribbell A long time resident of the area, died Saturday, March 31, 2007 at the age of 101. She leaves behind her beloved sister, Hortense and four nieces and a nephew. She was born in Nogales into a family with longtime roots in the region and spent her childhood in Ajo. She worked many years in Los Angeles in the clothes design business, and also as a nutritionist. She retired to Tucson where she was the oldest member of the Armory Senior Citizens Center, leading an active life until her death. On the occasion of her 100th birthday, Adele appeared on National Spanish language TV as a guest on the "Don Francisco Presenta" program. Visitation will be held Monday, April 9, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY (Center Chapel) 240 S. Stone Ave., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered Tuesday, April 10, 2007, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima, 1950 W. Irvington. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.
