The White Mountain Independent,
Show Low, Arizona ~ 11/10/2006
Carol L. Howard, 62, of Show Low, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, at the Flagstaff Medical Center complications of an illness.
Carol was born Dec. 29, 1943, in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Charles and Martha (Hupp) Genter. She met her husband, Clayton J. Howard there and they were married Nov. 6, 1959, at Augusta. They spent 47 years together and raised three daughters. She was a Navy wife for 10 years, and lived in Calif. for 10 years. Carol and her family came to Show Low in 1978, deciding this was home and a perfect place for them to enjoy and retire. Carol enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles, and loved playing bingo.
She volunteered at a retirement home when she lived in Washington and loved helping people. Carol was a very loving and giving wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. Most of all, she was a special friend to all those who knew her and the kindness she shared everywhere she went. She had a big heart that easily left an impression on everyone. She will be greatly missed by all.
Carol has left behind her caring husband, Clayton Jack Howard, of the home; three daughters, Carrie Lou Howard (Mathew) Harris of Phoenix, Kimberly Jean Howard (Mike) Acosta of Calif. and Jacqueline Renee Howard Hostler of Show Low; a sister, Gwen Wilderson of Augusta, Kansas; two brothers, Charles Genter III. of Leon, Kansas and Richard Genter of Augusta, Kansas; five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles Genter II.
Family and friends were invited to a viewing Nov. 5. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 6, at Black's Mortuary Chapel, Show Low.
So please, join the family in paying respect to a beautiful woman and wonderful person that blessed all with her love. You may light a candle at www.carol-howard.blacksmortuary.com
