Louella "Vickie" Pearl 89, resident of Tucson since 1961, passed away at her home July 3, 2010.
Born Louella Rennecke on her family's farm in Penn Township outside of Brownton in South Central Minnesota, on December 29, 1920, Louella graduated from Brownton High School and beauty school in Minneapolis before opening a beauty shop in Stewart, MN., where she resided for several years with her first husband, Stanley Dawson, who operated a plumbing, heating, refrigeration and appliance business. A retired beautician, she worked as a volunteer at area fraternal and veterans organizations and at the Comanche Wells Mobile Home Park clubhouse, including serving as a dance host and as a kitchen and bingo worker. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #180 Auxilliary and REAC, and a member of Elks Lodge #2663, Casas Adobes VFW Post 10188 Auxilliary and John P. Burns American Legion Post # 36 Auxilliary. She was a volunteer fundraiser and secretary-treasurer for the Stewart town baseball team and also worked part-time as a daily newspaper correspondent. She loved fishing, vacationing in northern Minnesota, ballroom dancing, entertaining and her adopted state of Arizona and Tucson. Louella was preceded in death by former husbands, Stanley Dawson, Robert Pearl and a brother, Howard Rennecke.
She is survived by her son, Gary (Jean) Dawson of Backus, MN; brothers, Harris (Deleris) Rennecke of Brownton, MN and Victor Rennecke of Cohasset, MN; sisters, Marcella Cohrs and Doloris Bartels both of Glencoe, MN and Vera Wacker of Brownton, MN; grandchildren, Carol Dawson of Woodbury, MN and Thomas John "T.J." Dawson of White Bear Lake, MN; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., Comanche Wells Clubhouse, #227, 775 W. Roger Road, Tucson, AZ 85705.
