HORSTMANN, William V. (Virgil, Louie, Nine-fingers)

William V. Horstmann (aka Virgil, Louie, Nine-fingers) born February 9, 1921 died July 7, 2010 at the VA Medical Center. He joins his beloved wife, Joan McNamara Horstmann, in everlasting peace. He is survived by his children, Linda Augenstein, Susan Pierce, Bill and Marily Horstmann; grandsons, Tony Pierce, Matt (Jessica) Pierce and Chris Augenstein; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, LaVerne McNamara; and many nieces and nephews. Bill was a retired teamster born in Chicago, Illinois, a member of First United Methodist Church; he enjoyed traveling and was a member of Catalina Sam's RV Club. He served in New Guinea with the Army's 496th AAA Gun Bn. during World War II. His infectious smile, playful sense of humor and love of chocolate will always be remembered. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to your favorite veterans group. Visitation, services and interment will be Monday, July 12, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at EVERGREEN MORTUARY & CEMETERY, 3015 N.
