MCKINNEY, Dennis

McKINNEY, Dennis, age 57, born August 12, 1952 in Medford, Oregon, died in a bicycle accident in Tucson, Arizona on July 5, 2010. He was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth McKinney of Leavenworth and Atchinson. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marianne Owens, who he helped care for during the last few months of her life. Dennis had made Tucson his home for the past eight months. He served two years in the Armed Forces in Germany. He is survived by his children, Shannon McKinney, Oceanside, CA, Nikki Wycuff (Jamey), St. Marys, OH and Shawn McKinney, Los Angeles, CA. He is also survived by two grandchildren and siblings, Joe McKinney (Sharon), Topeka, KS; Mick McKinney (Carol), Summerfield, FL; Jeanne Kaiser (Bill) Sterling, CO;Terry McKinney (Bertha) Atchison, KS; Pat McKinney (Karen); Tucson, AZ; Tim McKinney and Kathy Beavers (James), Sahuarita, AZ; Peg Williams, Orlando, FL; Peter McKinney (Diane), Greenwood, IN, and Sean McKinney, Leavenworth, KS. He is also survived by his many lifelong friends and co-workers in Leavenworth. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Care entrusted to ANGEL VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 520-327-6341.
