EASTRIDGE, Helen Anna Beck


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona Published Friday, November 7, 2008 Helen Anna Beck Eastridge, 94, passed away early Friday morning, Oct. 31, 2008. A resident of Lake Havasu City since 1972, Helen was an active and much loved member of the community. Her volunteer activities included the Havasu Regional Medical Center, Community Presbyterian Church, the women's charitable organization the PEO Sisterhood, and the Lake Havasu Republican Women. Born Sept. 29, 1914, in Springfield, Ill., Helen was raised in Sac City, Iowa. As an adult, she relocated to Seattle where she served as a personnel manager for Boeing Aircraft during World War II. There she met her husband Benjamin Ralph Eastridge and they married on Jan. 27, 1951. Helen leaves many, many dear friends and a loving family comprised of her husband of 57 years, Ralph; her son, Edward, of Lake Havasu City; her daughter, Susan (Jeffery) Arnold, of McLean, Va.; her sister, Katherine Kreft of Seattle, Wash.; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Beck, also of Seattle; her granddaughter, Leslie Eastridge; her grandchildren, Christine (John) Fruehwirth, Stephen (Farrah) Arnold, and six great grandchildren. Services for Helen will be Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Community Presbyterian Church, located at 3450 Chemehuevi Boulevard. A charitable organization is being set up in Helen's honor (Helens-Helpers.com) by her friends and family to raise money to support personal caregivers in the home for elderly women in our community. In lieu of flowers, a donation to this charitable organization or to one of the many charitable and volunteer organizations Helen supported throughout her life would be appreciated.
