Robert Fredrick (Skip) Knapp II, a former resident of Lake Havasu City, died Oct. 9, 2008, at St. Mary's Hospital in Tucson, from a lung disease. He was 57 years young. Originally from Ohio, Skip moved to Arizona and had a long career as a carpet installer.
Skip's renegade spirit and hearty laugh will remain forever alive in the hearts and memories of his family and friends.
He is survived by Jody Knapp, of Lake Havasu City; their three children, Shannon (Mike) Shurko, of Fayetteville, N.C., Robert Knapp, of Lake Havasu City, and Stephanie Knapp, of Oregon; Mom, Jean Ake, of Tucson; sisters: Kim and Vicky, of Ohio; brothers, Phillip, of Florida and Raymond, of Arkansas.; grandsons, Dylan and Holden, of North Carolina.
In remembrance of Skip, his family asks that you enjoy your passions. Skip's passions included the river, barbeques, playing horse shoes and shuffle board, golfing, yard work, John Wayne movies, Nascar and Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band.
No traditional memorial service will be observed, instead Skip's family request that he is remembered on the occasions when you have to run against the wind.
