He was born June 10, 1959 in Kapuskasing, Ontario, Canada to Sandor and Lyvia Kovacs. Alex graduated from EI Dorado High School in Placentia, Calif.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Karen; and son, Kenny, of Lake Havasu City; his parents; and sister, Lyvie Kovacs, of Fullerton, Calif.; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel in June of 2007.
Alex was a plastic injection moldmaker/machinist and had worked for the Toro Company in Riverside, Calif., until moving to Lake Havasu City in December of 1996. In Lake Havasu City he worked for the McCulloch Corp., Sterilite Corp., and Professional Ordnance Firearms. Later he owned American Ironworks Wrought Iron. For a few months he also was a test rider for Buell and Harley Davidson motorcycles, which he said was the most fun at work he had ever had, finally working for Bushmaster Firearms until September of 2007. He was a hardworking, meticulous man, who always helped his friends in any way he could.
Alex enjoyed boating with friends, riding his Harley Davidson and just relaxing with a beer and a honey berry cigar. We will miss having him here with us but we will fondly remember the many good times.
