Delmore "Del" Allen Couts, 79, passed away Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, in Lake Havasu City. He was born July 22, 1929, in Akron, Ohio, to Harwood and Mary (Starkey) Couts.
Del moved to Lake Havasu City 15 years ago from Akron. He worked as a foreman mechanic for a semi truck repair and service company. Del proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, Korean War. He was a member of the No. 635 Mason's in Riverside, Calif., 32nd degree mason, lifetime member of the D.A.V. and V.F.W. and a member of the American Legion.
Del also belonged to a shooting range in Riverside and the N.R.A. He enjoyed collecting things and panning for gold, what ever he retrieved he sold to Knotts Berry Farm.
Del is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Lois; step-sons, Dana Garrett, of Klamath Falls, Ore., Pat Garrett, of San Diego, Calif., Bart Garrett, of Joplin, Mo.; brother, Gene Couts, of Akron; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church Friday at 1 p.m. Words of wisdom and inspiration will be expressed by Pastor Chad Garrison.
In lieu of flowers, his family has requested that donations be made in Del's name to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 1605 McCulloch Blvd. Lake Havasu City, AZ; 86406.
