(Maiden Name: Goldstein)

Leona Fosco 90, was born September 12, 1919; passed away, June 13, 2010. Preceded in death by husband, Albino Fosco; sons, Michael and Sheldon Fosco; parents, Louis and Mary Goldstein; brothers, Mickey (Gloria), Archie (Elaine) and Sidney Goldstein; granddaughter, Michelle Fosco. Survived by daughter, Denise Fosco (Greg Constantino); grandchildren, Anthony Constantino, Darrell (Cindy), Ira (Amy), Cory (Cyndi) and Greg (Ceciel) Fosco, Scott Lapping and Mark Blaz; 13 great-grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Rochelle Fosco. Leona was taken home to Chicago, Illinois where on June 18, 2010 graveside services took place at Westlawn Cemetery by Weinstein Funeral Homes, officiated by Rabbi Barry Schechter. Leona grew up in the Maxwell St. area of Chicago, married and started her family with Albino, her husband of 61 years on Chicago's west side. Later they moved to West Rogers Park, Ill. where they enjoyed their family and home with holiday parties and delicious dinners for 43 years. They traveled to Tucson for the winter months until Albino passed away. Leona then moved to Atria Campana del Rio to live near her daughter, and she enjoyed her life there for the past 12 years. Before her retirement Leona loved working retail sales where she met many lifelong friends that she always kept in touch with. When asked what type of work she did, she would reply that she was in the "meat packing business," fitting women into bras and undergarments! An avid bingo and poker player, she will be warmly remembered for her quick wit, smiling face, and sunglasses to match every outfit, but most of all, her delicious sour cream coffee cakes, brownies, and mandel bread that she would bake for fund raisers, family, and residents of Atria. Her cheerful personality touched the lives of many and she will be greatly missed. The family wants to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Stephen Liao and his staff for all the years of wonderful care, patience and concern. We will always be grateful. I love and miss you so very much mom. My heart is with you, Mike, Shelly, and Daddy. In honor of her love for music, tax deductible donations can be sent to Rincon/University High School Choral Dept., 421 N. Arcadia Blvd., Tucson, AZ, 85711.
