Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona Tuesday, July 13, 2010 Dixie Jo Lukus, 81, of Flagstaff, died Thursday, July 8, 2010. She was born Dec. 6, 1928, in Harper Springs, Ark., to Phillip and Arra Lee Daniels Cockrell. She was the secretary to the dean of education at Northern Arizona University until her retirement in February 1989. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a great cook and enjoyed sharing her talent. She also loved to read and, most of all, spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Doris VanArsdale of Kingman; son Larry Lukus of Flagstaff; brothers John Cockrell of Flagstaff and Phillip Cockrell of Chino Valley; seven grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray G. Lukus, and her son, Alfred Lukus. A graveside service will be today at 10 a.m. at Citizens Cemetery in Flagstaff.
